We supply "wooden boat" hardware to OEM boat builders and suppliers of boat hardware. Interior cabin hardware is typically investment cast in architectural yellow brass, whereas exterior hardware is supplied in silicon bronze.
Tooling for a new program often starts with a customer supplied sample of the part they are looking for. This greatly reduces the start up cost.
